  1. Careful with the timing. I sometimes run the clock for a million reasons other than thinking about the hand. Perhaps I just grabbed a drink, changed the channel or something else other than poker. I use it, but I don't give it too much credit.

By the way, I comment a lot on your blog because I thoroughly enjoy bankroll building efforts. I would love to see the 10K mark for you.

I am in the middle of doing it now (I think it's the fifth time) and just had to drop down after losing ten buy-ins in about three nights at my current level. But I don't sweat it. It just means it will take longer. I think the worst thing to do is carry the loss from one session into the next. I am just about even from where I was before all the losses and I know that I will be moving back up soon.

  2. If he had A A there he goes all in pre-flop, so his re-raise for less than his stack in a heads up situation says you are ahead pre-flop to me. if he had an A on the flop i would assume a check with a check raise coming. in a tournament i am folding there but in your situation and limited expsoure by the size of his stack i think you made a good call - heck given his stack sizei might even call that in a tourney.

  3. oops misread on my part, thought he acted first on the flop. makes it tougher there- any reason you didn't min-raise onthe flop? a call lets you know you are ahead i think and raise would probably be a fold, but at this point you have committed yourself to calling two more bets.
