Comments to follow on another post. A LOT of turmoil at work as they have announced restructuring changes for my department that is going to result in between 25-50% layoffs of the sales floor (I work for a mutual fund sales desk). Essentially, since wirehouses have disappeared (Merrill Lynch for example), we have to change the way we do business. The layoffs are a result of those changes.
No one knows who is being cut or how. Just know that we will know if we are affected by October 15th. fun stuff.
