Started off the session down 1 BI when AQ < A9 all-in on the flop of AA7.
BUT
I was able to keep my emotions in check, played very solid ABC poker and ended positive 3 BIs. Folding marginal situations is a +EV move at the micros. See Ryverrat's post for details.
Will be taking some shots at 25NL as I continue to play well.
Thanks for the well-wishes on the job status as well. Should find out this afternoon, at least according to the rumor mill.

good luck with the job, as i mentioned before i'm in the same business (banking,trading,finance)as you i think and its very unnerving at the moment. Hopefully we have bottomed out here and the markets will steady a bit. People being shot left and right at the moment, fingers crossed you are one of the ones that survive this carnage.
ReplyDeleteOn the poker front Im making a prediction that you are comfortably playing 25nl early-mid november. It is always a pyschological barrier moving up just keep doing what you are doing and step back to rebuild. you will acclimatise to the higher level soon enough.
